Sonic Twisted Flamingo: Calories, Sugar, Price & Ingredients (2026)

Per Sonic's Fall 2026 nutrition guide, a Twisted Flamingo has Mini (Wacky Pack) 130, Small 170, Medium 300, Large 460, Route 44® 610 calories (cup sizes of 10, 16, 20, 32, 44 fl oz). The Medium (20 fl oz) has 300 calories, 74 g of sugar and 135 mg of sodium. Some third-party sites list different figures for the Medium; we follow Sonic's own published guide.

Mini (Wacky Pack) 32 g, Small 42 g, Medium 74 g, Large 112 g, Route 44® 150 g. A Medium's 74 g is about 18.5 teaspoons of sugar (4 g per teaspoon). The American Heart Association suggests no more than 36 g of added sugar a day for most men and 25 g for most women. Sonic lists total sugars, not added sugars, so this is a comparison and not an exact added-sugar figure. Most of the sugar in a soda-based drink like this is added, and the sweet cream adds a little milk sugar.

Sonic does not publish menu prices, and franchisees set their own. Typical US pickup prices measured by Drive Thru Index (checked November 5, 2026): Mini (Wacky Pack) about $2.39, Small $2.89, Medium about $3.39, Large about $3.79, Route 44® $4.29. The Small ($2.19 to $4.49) and Route 44 ($3.39 to $6.19) figures come from item pages covering 3,350 restaurants; the other sizes are medians from a seeded sample of restaurants, which is why they say "about". Delivery apps often cost more.

Sonic's launch announcement describes it as Sprite with a cherry vanilla flavor and sweet cream. Sonic does not publish a recipe card or a full ingredient statement for the finished drink, so we cannot list every ingredient or the exact syrup amounts. What Sonic does publish are rows for Sprite and for the Cherry, Vanilla and Sweet Cream add-ins, which we use on this page to show how a drink ordered that way adds up.

Sonic does not publish a caffeine figure for it. Plain Sprite is caffeine-free according to its maker, Coca-Cola, and the other components are a cherry vanilla flavor and sweet cream, but Sonic does not list the flavor's ingredients, so we cannot confirm a figure of zero. If you need to avoid caffeine strictly, ask your drive-in.

Sonic's November 2026 Allergen Guide marks the Twisted Flamingo as containing Milk, which fits the sweet cream. No other major allergen is marked for it in that guide. Because it contains milk it is not dairy-free or vegan, and Sonic states that no menu items are certified as vegetarian. Sonic's guide also warns that products containing allergens are used in its restaurants and may come in contact with other foods and drinks, so use the allergen guide and ask your drive-in if the allergy is severe.

Sonic introduced it in June 2024 as one of its Flavorista Favorites drinks. Sonic's Fall 2026 nutrition guide lists it under Specialty Sips next to Dirty Dr Pepper and Ocean Water, but Sonic's November 2026 brochure places it in a "limited time only" box. Those two Sonic documents do not agree, and we do not know which one a given drive-in follows, so check the menu board or the Sonic app before you drive over.

By typical price per fluid ounce the Route 44® is the cheapest at about 9.8 cents an ounce (cup volume, ice included). That is only a price comparison: the Mini (130 calories) and Small (170) are the lighter choices, and the Large has 460 calories and 112 g of sugar. Prices vary by drive-in, so the order can change at yours.

Sonic's deals page describes Happy Hour as half-price drinks and slushes when you order in the Sonic app, and it excludes the Mini size. Our menu data therefore treats Mini (Wacky Pack) as not eligible. Eligibility can differ by drive-in and over time, so only the app shows what applies to your order.

Sonic has no official lower-sugar Twisted Flamingo. Two things help: pick a smaller size (the Small is 42 g of sugar against 74 g for the Medium), or ask for Sprite Zero Sugar with the Cherry Zero Sugar, Vanilla and Sweet Cream add-ins. From Sonic's published rows that combination adds up to about 125 calories and 23 g of sugar in a Medium. That is our estimate, not a Sonic menu item, and the drive-in may not be able to make it.

You can order a close match: Sprite with the Cherry, Vanilla and Sweet Cream add-ins. Adding Sonic's published rows gives about 320 calories and 75 g of sugar for a Medium, against 300 calories and 74 g for the real drink. The gap (+20 calories) shows the rows are not an exact recipe. Add-ins are charged extra at the drive-in, and we have no measured add-in prices, so we cannot say which order costs less.

Sonic updates its nutrition guides by season and has printed more than one version, and many third-party sites copy older or rounded numbers. This page uses Sonic's National Fall 2026 nutrition guide and checks it against the November 2026 brochure for the Small through Route 44 sizes. One row in the November brochure, a 10 oz line showing 700 calories, is clearly a printing error for a soda, so we ignore it. We note every figure we could not verify in the sources section below.
