Sonic Ocean Water: Calories, Sugar, Price & Allergens (2026)

Per Sonic's Fall 2026 nutrition guide: Mini (Wacky Pack) 80, Small 110, Medium 190, Large 300, Route 44® 400. The Medium has 190 calories, 53 g of sugar and 95 mg of sodium, with 0 g of fat and protein.

Mini (Wacky Pack) 21 g, Small 31 g, Medium 53 g, Large 80 g, Route 44® 108 g. A Medium's 53 g is about 13.3 teaspoons (4 g per teaspoon). The American Heart Association suggests no more than 36 g of added sugar a day for most men and 25 g for most women. Sonic lists total sugars, not added sugars, so this is a comparison, not an exact added-sugar figure.

Sonic's guides list no prices and each drive-in sets its own. Typical US pickup prices from Drive Thru Index (checked November 5, 2026): Mini (Wacky Pack) $1.89, Small $2.49, Medium $2.89, Large $3.29, Route 44® $3.79. The Medium ranged from $2.09 to $4.69 across 3,352 restaurants. Delivery apps usually cost more, so check the Sonic app or the menu board.

Sonic's November 2026 Allergen Guide marks no allergen for Ocean Water or its Blue Coconut Flavor. It marks tree nuts for the Coconut Flavor add-in and milk and tree nuts for the Make It Dirty add-in. Sonic says it cannot eliminate cross-contact or guarantee any item is free of an allergen, and that no items are certified gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan. Tell your carhop about any allergy.

Sonic publishes no caffeine figure for it, so we cannot state zero. Plain Sprite is caffeine-free according to Coca-Cola, and Sonic's ingredient statement for the Blue Coconut Syrup lists no caffeine source. Ask your drive-in if you must avoid caffeine.

Sonic describes it as sweet and refreshing with a hint of Blue Coconut flavor, served over Sonic's ice. Sonic's Ingredient Statement Guide lists the Blue Coconut Syrup as water, high fructose corn syrup, citric acid, natural and artificial flavors, sodium benzoate (preservative), xanthan gum, Blue #1, sucralose and silicone (anti-foaming agent). A Sonic spokesperson, as reported by Allrecipes, says the other part is Sprite; the Sprite syrup is listed as high fructose corn syrup, water, citric acid, natural flavors, sodium citrate, sodium benzoate (to protect taste) and dimethylpolysiloxane. Sonic gives no ingredient statement or syrup amounts for the finished drink.

Sonic lists no zero-sugar Ocean Water. Its Fall 2026 guide lists five zero-sugar flavor add-ins (Blackberry, Cherry, Mango, Peach and Raspberry); Blue Coconut is not one of them. Allrecipes reports you can order Sprite Zero Sugar with Blue Coconut added. Adding Sonic's own rows gives about 15 calories and 4 g of sugar in a Medium, against 190 and 53 g. That is our arithmetic, not a Sonic menu item, and we could not confirm drive-ins will make it.

By the numbers, nearly. Sonic's Sprite row plus its Blue Coconut add-in row equals the published Ocean Water at Mini (Wacky Pack) and Small, but is lower at Medium (5 calories less), Large (15 calories less), Route 44® (15 calories less). Sonic does not publish its recipe, so treat this as a rough guide only.

Sonic's guides list no Ocean Water slush. The nearest listed item is the Blue Coconut Cream Slush: 630 calories in a Medium, with milk marked as an allergen.

A Sonic spokesperson told Allrecipes that Ocean Water became an official menu drink in 1982, was trademarked in 1996, and is the No. 2-selling Signature Drink behind the Cherry Limeade.
